KEY DEVELOPMENT PRIORITIES 2026/2027

1. Reading, Writing and Oracy

• Strengthen phonics, reading fluency, comprehension and enjoyment through Little Wandle and high-quality texts.
• Improve pupils’ writing, vocabulary and spoken language across the curriculum.
• Embed consistently ambitious and inclusive teaching through our six Quality First Teaching pillars.

2. Inclusion, Belonging and Attendance

• Ensure that every pupil feels safe, valued and included.
• Improve attendance and outcomes for pupils with SEND, disadvantaged pupils and those facing barriers to learning.
• Identify needs early and provide timely, effective support in partnership with families and external professionals.

3. Curriculum and Personal Development

• Strengthen Humanities through significant people, places, diverse perspectives and our local context.
• Enrich learning through purposeful reading, talk, writing, visits and cultural experiences.
• Embed our Christian vision and develop pupil leadership, courageous advocacy, sustainability and Rights Respecting practice.

4. Leadership and Sustainability

• Maintain strong leadership, governance, safeguarding and careful financial management.
• Promote the school, strengthen community engagement and increase pupil numbers.
• Maximise the impact of our indoor physical activity space for pupils’ wellbeing and future community use.

These priorities will be reviewed regularly by school leaders and governors to ensure they make a positive difference to every pupil at St Peter’s.
