PARENT GOVERNOR VACANCY

Dear Parents and Carers,

PARENT GOVERNOR VACANCY - ST. PETER’S EATON SQUARE CE VA PRIMARY SCHOOL.

Would you – or a parent you know – like to be a parent governor?

The School Governing Body will have a vacancy for a parent governor and we are writing to ask whether you would like to send in a nomination – for yourself or another parent. A nomination form is attached with this letter. Additional copies are available from the school office.

If you are interested in standing, please fill in the form, including the signature of 2 proposers, who must be parents of a pupil at St Peter’s Eaton Square CE Primary School.

Please also include a short statement about yourself with a maximum of 200 words with, if you wish, a passport-sized photograph. This information will be circulated to all parents in the event of a ballot, and displayed on the school website. Please return the forms addressed to me, to the school office by 4 pm Thursday 21st November 2019.

Almost all parents are entitled to stand and vote, but there are some restrictions. Please read the information about eligibility that accompanies this letter. If you are still unsure please contact me.

If there are more nominations than places there will be an election and every eligible parent will be able to vote. The election will be by ballot. I will send you more information about this later.

Before deciding whether to stand you may like to find out more about what is involved in being a governor. It is a time-consuming commitment and you will be expected to attend meetings, become a member of a committee and attend training courses. Fr Ralph Williamson, the Chair of Governors would be very pleased to talk to anyone about the work of the Governing Body. You can contact him by email:  vicar@stpetereatonsquare.co.uk
